I’m a wardrobe stylist, I had pulled some of his Obey clothing to use in a photo shoot. I was … Read more I’m a wardrobe stylist, I had pulled some of his Obey clothing to use in a photo shoot. I was supportive of placing my friend’s clothes in any shoot I could in our early careers.

It was 2005, I dropped by his house to return the clothes I borrowed to use in a shoot. I pulled up and he was in his garage, he said his boombox had just broken. I had some brand new high end speakers leftover from a photo shoot I just finished. I offered them to him. I didn’t think much about it, he needed speakers and I had some.

About a year later, I was at one of his shows at a gallery on La Brea in Los Angeles. He said he never forgot my generosity, and offered for me to pick out any piece I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised. I went to his studio a couple weeks later, he signed it for me, and I had it framed.

“Rise Above Peace Patterns”. I chose this because it was meaningful. To “Rise Above” spiritually, to choose “Peace”.

Putting this up for auction because I was not a candidate for vaccination. The pandemic took a toll on my career. My clientele is Celebrity / High Profile. When mandatory vaccinations were implemented, I was no longer allowed to work. For the first couple years - extreme protocols were allowed with distance and ppp. Once vaccinations were legally mandated, there went my career. And my health insurance. Rebuilding now, which is why I have chosen to put this up for sale.
