Born in The Hague, Holland in 1902. He worked for many years with Prof. Bruckner restoring paintings of old masters in various important European galleries and museums. His natural ability to follow the instinct of old masters had brought him wide acclaim.
Schoorman’s restoration background is evident in the confident brushwork, nuanced shading, and reverence for classical portraiture seen in this piece.
