Cast in bronze, … Read more An exquisite sculpture by Irish artist Gabrielle in an Impressionist style, featuring a female dancer in motion. Cast in bronze, it measures 17” in height, 7.5” in width, and 5.5” in depth, with a round marble base measuring 3” in height and 5.5” in diameter, for a total height of 20 inches. The marble base is black in color, streaked with gold veins.
This is one of three castings created from an original figure carved in wax to achieve a fine level of detail, as can be seen in the close-up photo of the face.
Ariel dances freely with arms outstretched, moving to the rhythm of the music and the moment. Her elongated form suggests a level of fantasy and extreme motion beyond the discipline of traditional dance. See less
