The work plays on the chromatic and material contrast between the pure, opaque white of the biscuit (unglazed porcelain with a parian marble effect) of the bust and the glazed porcelain of the base in "véritable bleu de four" (high-temperature cobalt blue), embellished with pure gold trim.
