The designer described how this table was created: "after the success of the moment sofa, i had to come up … Read more The designer described how this table was created: "after the success of the moment sofa, i had to come up with a table with a similar look. I imagined a glass tabletop measuring 80 × 200 cm, made of 6 mm thick tempered frosted glass, suspended 72 cm above the floor on a metal frame similar to the seat or backrest of a sofa. It was basically that simple. Because the tabletop is frosted, you can't see what's going on under the table. The metal frame supporting the tabletop also protected it during handling and transport. The tabletop is tempered and the metal is a durable material, so there was no risk of damage during transport.

later, niels gammelgaard won the excellent swedish design award for this table. Italian design opinion leaders also gave it a positive review. The design magazine domus described it as “un tavolo importante” – a table of significance.

moment was sold as both a dining table and a desk. Initially, it could be found in the more trend-conscious ikea tomorrow departments in stockholm, gothenburg, and malmö, and in 1987 it was introduced to wider sales in the ikea catalog.

the table is in very good condition. There are scratches on the tabletop. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
