62.99 x 90,55inches
160 cm x 230 cm
Visual & Style
It's composed of six large, square modules arranged in two columns of three. Within each module, a series of concentric squares in a gradient of warm, vibrant colors—from deep crimson and plum at the edges to bright orange and a pale, almost white-yellow in the center—creates a powerful optical illusion of depth and receding space.
This use of color and geometry is a hallmark of the Mid-Century Modern and Op Art styles that Panton championed.
The effect is dynamic, making the flat surface appear three-dimensional.
While many of Panton's textile designs were part of industrial lines for manufacturers like Tisca/Mira-X and were not individually signed, the bold, experimental use of pattern and color is unmistakably characteristic of his work.
The design is known commercially as "Quadrat" or a similar variant within his collection. Panton sought to create immersive environments with color and form, and this rug is a perfect, rich example of that philosophy. This piece is designed in the style of the selected designer and/or manufacturer
