This exquisite 19th-century Chinese reverse glass painting (Qing Dynasty) captures a serene domestic scene of a mother and daughter in a scholar’s garden. The artwork is executed in the traditional huitouhua (back-painting) technique, where pigments are applied in reverse order to the backside of the glass. The detail is remarkable, showcasing intricate textile patterns on the robes, a delicate hair ornament, and a classical lattice window overlooking a landscape.
