This bold table lamp is composed from an original Tokio pattern ceramic vase produced by Flora Gouda in the Netherlands, circa late 1960s to 1970s, a period when the factory embraced bold, graphic surface design aligned with international modernism. The vase has been carefully converted into a lamp and paired with a newly made custom lampshade, creating a sculptural lighting object that bridges European studio ceramics and contemporary interior design.

The ceramic body is defined by its vivid fire-orange glaze, layered with matte black linear motifs that wrap rhythmically around the form. The decoration is emblematic of Flora Gouda’s late-modern output: abstract, architectural, and deliberately graphic, with strong horizontal banding and calligraphic symbols that feel both mid-century and subtly postmodern.
