Mixed media on paper. 1970s period 1970s author ezio gribaudo (turin, 10 january 1929 – turin, 18 july 2022) was an italian artist, art publisher and graphic designer, a multifaceted figure of the second half of the twentieth century. Trained at the brera academy in milan (1949-1952) and at the polytechnic of turin (architecture), he began as a graphic designer and typographer (he collaborated with nebiolo in the 1950s), and then established himself as an experimental artist. Famous for his logogrifi (from 1966), white-on-white reliefs (or with chromatic inserts) obtained with mixed techniques of printing, collage and bas-relief, which play on textures, deformed alphabetic signs and plastic material. His work, often monochromatic or limited in color, blends abstraction, informalism, conceptualism, and visual poetry, with influences from fontana, burri, and the typographic avant-garde. Winner of the graphic arts prize at the 1966 venice biennale, he exhibited in major international events (the venice biennale, the rome quadrennial, and galleries in europe and the usa). As a publisher (edizioni d’arte fratelli pozzo, later his own), he collaborated with artists such as chagall, de chirico, fontana, peggy guggenheim, and many others, producing artist books and cult catalogs. His works are represented in museums (including the peggy guggenheim collection) and private collections; his turin home-studio, a “living archive” of art and books, has often been described as an iconic space. Gribaudo's creations are highly regarded in the italian and european contemporary art markets. Technique mixed media on paper dimensions painting: 23 x 31 cm frame: 36.5 x 46.5 cm conditions perfect.
