Wall Street, the financial district in New York City, bears both economic and cultural significance as the epicenter of the trading realm and home to some of the biggest financial institutions in the world, including the Federal Reserve, major banks, and the New York Stock Exchange. The painting is signed "G. Sherman" in the lower right corner. It measures 24 inches high x 20 inches wide. It is framed in a channeld fruitwood frame with a gold liner, which measures 31" x27" and is ready to hang.

About the Artist:
Gail Sherman Corbett (1871-1952) was a well-rounded sculptor and artist who painted lavish portrayals of sophisticated Parisian boulevards and renowned New York landmarks. Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Corbett studied at the Art Students League and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. After her study abroad, she married and settled in New York City, exhibiting at the Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and with the National Association of Women Artists. She was also a suffragette and an art teacher. See less
