This is an Art Deco, gracious secretaire I inherited from my family when I was a young girl in Bucharest, Romania. I was able to rescue it from the confiscation of my house and all my belongings by the communist regime after I immigrated.
The piece has beautiful proportions and charming details—like the bevelled crystal window of the little cabinet, the bronze details at the roots of the front legs, the little partition for letters, and the little crown above the cabinet. The cabinet can be locked for privacy with its original key. However, due to its harsh life, the piece needs restoration. I provided as many pictures as I thought necessary to help you gauge the extent of the work needed. But once done, this will be a remarkable, unique piece in your collection, as it always was in mine. I price it resonably so don't hesitate to acquire it.
