author arnaldo tamburini (florence, 1853 – florence, 1908) was an italian painter from tuscany. Trained in florence, he made his debut in 1874 at the promotrice fiorentina with an impression from life, showing influences from tuscan chromatic naturalism. Although he began as a landscape painter, he made his name primarily as a genre painter, creating humorous and lively scenes of everyday life, often featuring friars and monks in playful situations (drinking, games, leisure activities), rendered with bold brushstrokes and strong contrasts of light and color. In the 1890s, she also devoted herself to portraiture, producing official portraits of victor emmanuel ii and umberto i (preserved in the museum of san matteo, pisa), as well as private portraits. He participated in exhibitions such as the national exhibition in venice (1887) and the promotrice in genoa (1892). His works, now in private and museum collections, are present on the italian 19th-century antiques market.
