Italy, 2014 origin italy period 2014 author ugo nespolo (mosso, biella, 1941) is an italian artist among the protagonists of contemporary art. He trained at the albertina academy of fine arts and the university of turin, entering the arte povera and turin conceptual circles already in the 1960s. His research is transversal between painting, sculpture, collage, objects and above all experimental cinema: since 1967 he has made avant-garde films involving artists such as luciano fabro, enrico baj, michelangelo pistoletto and allen ginsberg. His language is characterised by bold colours, clear shapes, irony and quotation, with references to futurism, pop culture and graphics. He has exhibited in museums and international biennials and has created important public works, scenography and projects for major brands. He lives and works in turin and is considered one of the most recognizable and versatile artists on the italian art scene from the late twentieth century to the present.
