This vibrant pair of table lamps is crafted from authentic Royal Delft double-gourd vases, hand-painted in Delft, Netherlands in 1974 and 1977. Combining centuries-old Dutch ceramic tradition with a bold, updated presentation, the lamps offer a striking balance of history and contemporary elegance.

Each vase features the classic double-gourd form, long associated with prosperity and longevity in Chinese decorative arts and widely adopted in Delft production from the 17th century onward. The bodies are richly decorated with hand-painted floral motifs in layered tones of Delft blue, ranging from soft powder blue to deep cobalt. Peonies, scrolling foliage, and geometric banding are rendered with confident, fluid brushwork, giving each lamp subtle variation while remaining a true matched pair.

The lamps are topped with custom-made vermillion silk shades with a visible slub texture, creating a vivid yet sophisticated contrast against the blue-and-white ceramics. This complementary color pairing—blue and red-orange—adds warmth and visual energy, lending the pair a distinctly decorative presence well suited to both classic and eclectic interiors.
