set of thonet / ton dining chairs, produced circa 1920–1950, during a period when the principles of the vienna secession were still strongly influencing central european design. These chairs reflect a clear approach to furniture design based on visual lightness, functionality and restrained elegance.
made from bent beechwood, the chairs stand out for the quality of their curves, structural strength and everyday comfort. Each piece shows slight variations in backrest design, proportions and seat height, typical of sets assembled over time for practical use.the surfaces show an even, natural patina, with small signs of wear consistent with age and use. Originally designed for daily life, these chairs work equally well today around a dining table, in a café setting or as accent seating in contemporary interiors with a historical sensibility.they are undoubtedly true thonet chairs; although most of them no longer have any identifying markings or stamps, two of them still bear the original thonet and ton label.
the state of conservation is optimal, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique produced by the passage of time.give a point of originality to your home with these unique pieces, which merge with the contemporary style bringing personality to your home. This set of antique thonet / ton dining chairs can be combined with any of our sideboards or with our available antique dining tables.
