This Japanese low cabinet dates from the Taishō period (1912–1926), a time of gentle transition in everyday life in Japan. Without breaking away from tradition, domestic interiors slowly became more flexible, and furniture evolved to better suit daily use and changing lifestyles.Made from paulownia wood (Paulownia spp.), a material long valued for its lightness, stability and natural resistance to humidity, this piece reflects a clear sense of balance.
