A rare vintage radio produced by the historic trans continents radio company of prandoni in milan. This is the p.d. 9 model, serial number 09124, a fascinating example of mid-20th-century italian engineering and design.
design and style: the cabinet features a soft line with rounded edges, typical of the modernist style of the era. The front features an asymmetrical design: on the left is the large fabric speaker grille, while on the right is the tuning dial against a black background with gold/green graphics, featuring the "trans continents radio" logo and the word "corte." below the dial are three bakelite control knobs.
material and finish: the case is made of wood veneer with exposed grain, lending a warm feel to the piece. The interior retains the original metal frame and valves. A metal identification plate with serial number and model is located on the back.
