A timeless Impressive cast limestone statue sculpture of remarkable beauty and emotional power
"Awakening" Marcel Bouraine, champions the female form in a delicate, respectful way; it thereby stands apart, as an homage to women, from many of the more dramatic depictions of the day, which for example showed women balancing firebrands or in extreme dance poses. Bouraine also pays homage to women's liberation by his rendering of the short hairdo.
