This piece was commissioned and later obtained form the Chuey Estate of Hollywood Hills fame whose house was designed by Richard Neutra. Edmond Teske was a well respected photographer of the mid century and began his work as a young man under the guidance of Frank Lloyd Wright while residing in a studio built by him. He went on to pioneer the photographic method of solarization.
Pictured is presumably a daughter, niece, or grand child of Robert and Josephine Chuey. No indications are provided of her relation to the Chuey's however several portraits of her are present in the collection we acquired from them. This piece measures 15 x 21.75" while the print alone measures 7.75 x 9.5". This piece is original and was created entirely by Teske who photographed, processed, enlarged, mounted, and signed it from beginning to end.
