This is a finely cast 19th-century Chinese bronze figure of Guanyin (Avalokiteśvara), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, shown seated in serene meditation atop a double lotus-petal throne. The figure embodies the gentle, maternal form of Guanyin that became especially popular in late imperial China for both temple worship and private devotional use.

Guanyin is depicted wearing flowing robes with softly modeled folds, an elongated serene face with downcast eyes, and a tall headdress adorned with subtle decorative motifs. In her hands she holds a ritual vase (kundika or kalasha), symbolizing purity, compassion, and the pouring forth of healing nectar upon the world.

The bronze retains a rich, naturally aged patina, with areas of warm brown tonality and traces of green verdigris consistent with age. A cast mark is present (location consistent with Qing-period workshop or devotional bronzes), reinforcing its traditional manufacture.

The sculpture dates to the Qing Dynasty, 19th century, and would have originally been used for a household altar or small temple shrine.
