In … Read more Born in North Carolina Robert Conley, Jr, aka “Van Bo”, came to California at first a musician and actor. In Sausalito he was encouraged to became a painter, entirely self taught, using donated materials. As an artist it is said he “broke every rule in the book.” He hosted an occasional open air art show on the waterfront at the foot of Napa Street. He was popular and prolific, and as colorful as his paintings. See less
