Vibrant yet understated, this is a charming depiction of a table scene with beautiful shades of blue, yellow, and green. Signed en verso, not dated, but likely 1970's. Minor edge wear, some moisture marks on back side, otherwise very good vintage condition.

About the artist:
Jo Werts (1904-2000)- was a California artist best known for her work with watercolors, although she created in a variety of mediums. Originally from Iowa, Werts studied at the Chicago Art Institute and got a masters in fine art from USC. She also studied under noted abstract expressionist painter Richard Diebenkorn. Her work was heavily influenced by her original loves of modern dance and music, so many of her pieces convey movement through color and pattern. Her work has also been widely exhibited throughout the US, particularly California.
