What makes this piece truly unique on the market is its extremely limited edition: the work is numbered in pencil at the bottom left 2/7. Such a limited edition (only 7 copies worldwide) usually indicates an artist's proof or an exclusive "out of print" series, making it much more valuable than the traditional editions of 100 or 200 copies.

the subject: the work depicts marini's iconic theme: the horse and rider. However, here the composition is complex and captivating, set in a sort of theatrical or circus scene. The rider can be seen astride a stylized horse on the left, while on the right and in the background appear human figures, jugglers or actors, some on a raised stage.
