This piece looks like it is from the early 1900s to me. It's a silverplate ladle in an elegant, traditional pattern with floral designs, scrolls, and lovely scallops around the bowl.
Mark on back reads: Wm. A. Rogers. SXR
This could be used to serve gravy or sauces. Quite a unique piece.
