It depicts a woman from the Bigouden region sitting in a chair by the fireplace. It is presented in a whitewashed wooden frame enhanced with delicate gilding, dating from the same period (1950). It is signed by the artist, Claude Houal, in the lower left corner. The back is made of cardboard. It is one of a set of four small watercolors representing Breton scenes by the same artist, all framed in identical frames.
