Louis Ferdinand Malespina (1874–1940) aquatint depicting a harness race at the Vincennes Hippodrome, Paris. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Protected by glass and framed in a simple wooden frame. Good condition.
Paris – famous hippodrome, built in 1863 and restored/rebuilt in 1879 after the Franco-Prussian War. In 1934, it was dedicated to harness racing, as this work illustrates. The Prix d'Amérique (America Prize) was held here in 1920.
