A stunning example of early 19th-century French provincial craftsmanship, this tall buffet was made in Brittany, France, circa 1820. Crafted from solid pear wood, the cabinet features a rich, deeply aged patina that reflects over two centuries of use and care.
The design showcases classic Louis XV styling, with four paneled doors, two above and two below, flanking a central stile hand-carved with delicate floral motifs. Additonal carved decoration can be seen on the shaped apron and frieze. Two center drawers provide convenient storage, while the raised and molded panels add dimension and depth.
The buffet retains its original iron hardware and escutcheons, offering authenticity and charm. Its warm tone, sculpted lines, and provincial elegance make it a versatile anchor piece for traditional, French country, or rustic-inspired interiors.
