This elegant English game table dates from the Regency period, circa 1820. It features refined proportions, a rich mahogany veneer and restrained decorative detailing characteristic of early 19th century English furniture.
The tabletop is foldable and opens to reveal its original green leather playing surface with a gilt border. The leather shows a pronounced longitudinal tear and signs of wear consistent with age and use. The underlying wooden structure remains stable and intact.
Fine string inlay details and slender, tapered legs enhance the table’s light and elegant appearance. Originally intended as a card or game table, it is equally suitable today as a small writing table or refined accent piece.
