Antique Louis XV style display cabinet with decorative bronze mounts and a marble top. Medium-sized, shallow bookcase-style cabinet.
The cabinet's frame is made of solid mahogany, covered with beautiful rosewood marquetry across the entire front and sides.
It opens with two large glass doors, two-thirds glazed, and locks on the right side. The locks feature attractive bronze escutcheons with floral motifs. The lower part of the doors displays a large floral marquetry design in various wood species, offering a range of colors: rosewood, lemonwood, and sycamore.
The interior is fitted with three adjustable shelves.
The legs are finely decorated, slightly curved in the Louis XV style, covered with marquetry, and adorned with gilt bronze mounts.
The top is a rounded marble slab in shades of old rose and white, similar to Languedoc red breccia.
Beautifully finished 1950s display cabinet, perfectly sound, solid, and functional.
This piece comes from a village house in the Aveyron region of southern France.
