The box was made from a cardboard material that was coated with black and red lacquer, and green and white lacquer accents. The design on the cover is of a crane with a pair of peaches in its beak. An arrangement of feathers surrounds the central design, and a star pattern circles the edge. The sides have a design of a scrolling vine interspersed with feathers. The interior is coated in black lacquer. The base is flat and lacquered in black. The box has a scalloped edge shape.
