A beautiful Orient & Flume dogwood blossom paperweight capturing the delicate beauty of flowering branches suspended in crystal-clear glass.
Orient & Flume is one of America’s most celebrated contemporary glass studios. Founded in 1972 in Chico, California, the studio took its name from the original location between Orient Street and Flume Street, where founders Douglas Boyd and David Hopper first established their furnace in a converted carriage house.
Orient & Flume quickly gained a reputation for detailed three-dimensional designs encased in clear crystal, producing works that often feature nature-inspired subjects. Their glass is represented in major museum collections worldwide, including the Smithsonian, the Corning Museum of Glass, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Signed on the bottom and retains its original label.
