This beautifully handwoven vintage Persian Hamadan area rug dates to the early–mid 20th century and exemplifies the enduring artistry of village weaving traditions. The composition centers on a cream-toned medallion, elegantly framed by a larger red medallion adorned with finely rendered geometric and animal motifs—symbolic elements that speak to cultural heritage, protection, and storytelling within Persian tribal design.
The surrounding field displays rich abrash, with subtle tonal shifts moving through deep moss green, slate gray, and muted blue, lending depth, movement, and a naturally aged character prized by collectors and interior designers alike. A particularly rare turquoise blue border encases the design, offering a striking yet harmonious contrast that elevates the rug’s visual presence.
