Fireplace tool set designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Dimensione Fuoco, Italy, 1970s.
Made of patinated wrought iron with solid bronze details and faceted solid wood handles, the set reflects the characteristic architectural language of the Scarpa studio: rigorous geometries, honest structure, and a refined material contrast between dark metal, warm wood, and bronze.
The set includes three tools—poker, shovel, and tongs—arranged on their original vertical stand, conceived as monolithic volumes with a strong sculptural presence. It is accompanied by a folding protective screen in woven iron mesh with bronze joints, creating an interesting interplay between mass and transparency.
More than functional accessories, the pieces act as a small architectural intervention next to the hearth, transforming a domestic object into a collectible design piece.
