Franz Edwin Gehrig Targis was a founding member of the Communist Artists' Association in 1928 and a communist. After World War II, he taught at the Weissensee School of Art in Berlin. Here we present a work in the style of socialist realism. It depicts the glorification of the workers toiling on a massive dam; only through their efforts can this monumental work be completed. The portrayal of the dam's concrete surfaces is unusual, appearing strangely dull and earthy tones, with color only appearing in the upper center of the image, where the forest is depicted. Such works are rarely found on the market. This piece has an attribution mark,
