Among the most interesting genres of modern art is the depiction of the industrial world. Here, a steam locomotive passes beneath an idealized blast furnace landscape. Rendered in vibrant, luminous colors, the image is reminiscent of the exaggerated industrial world in the film metropolis, which was also filmed in berlin in the 1920s. A monogram, fh, scratched in with the end of a brush, can be found in the lower right corner. This piece has an attribution mark,
