The base consists of four feet, on which stands a carved column surrounded by four finely sculpted dolphins with their tails raised.
The symbolism of the dolphin dominates ancient imagery as a protagonist in Greek mythology, ancient science, and Christian iconography. The heraldic dolphin was later added to these strands. Marine animals have always been a constant presence in the religious and mythological symbolism of Mediterranean populations. Among all sea creatures, the dolphin has always occupied an important place due to its intelligence, its affinity with humans, and its auspiciousness. The veneration of this animal certainly has very ancient origins; the symbolism of the dolphin spread throughout the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, in Greece and Italy.
The entire base of the table is made of walnut.
The top is inlaid with various woods; There are eight segments veneered in olive wood and defined towards the outside by a slice of flowers inlaid with various woods: maple, natural green olive wood, and cherry.
The centerpiece is defined by a walnut fillet inside which is a garland of flowers.
The table is in good overall condition, although the top is more worn, with some marks on the wood.
