19th century swedish painted trunk/chest circa 1860.
Good quality large piece of traditional swedish furniture which would of been used to store the household blankets and linen. Original swedish blue paint scheme, with iron corner brackets and carrying handles. Hinged lid opens to reveal a partially lined paper interior, with plenty of room for everyday storage. Having a desirable flat lid, means this chest can double up as a tv unit or even a tall coffee table.
Expected surface marks, surface fading and minor age splits. Evidence of dead/inactive treated worm.
Structurally sound and ready for everyday use.
