Designed by Christoffer Martens for Moormann, the "Seven Sleepers" impresses with its ingenious simplicity and honest material aesthetic. The bed is made of black-coated birch plywood (multiplex). The deep black surfaces form a striking graphic contrast to the light, visible wooden edges. These striped edges not only reveal the material but also serve as a deliberate design element that traces the contours of the bed. The design is based on a screwless plug-in construction: The four parts of the frame simply slot together. At the corners, you can clearly see how the side and cross pieces interlock, simultaneously forming the stable legs. A simple, rectangular headboard is attached at the head end, continuing the clean lines and providing protection from the wall. The overall impression is down-to-earth, functional, and timelessly modern.
