The Madonna, seated and wrapped in a splendid blue cloak with a pinkish tunic, holds the naked child, rendered with fleshy softness and childlike naturalness.

Facing them, a kneeling Wise Man, captured in the act of making an offering, is depicted with intense psychological detail. Behind him, the other Magi stand out, with their crowns and rich oriental robes. The scene is enlivened by a crowd of splendid secondary characters who contribute to creating depth and dynamism.
