You are viewing a fantastic Burnished Wood + Copper Sculpture by listed artist Robert Compston c1960s.
The design features a burnished wooden log, with inserted capped copper rods (of varying lengths). Burnishing the outer edges of the log brought out the contrast of the grain and rings of the wood. Incised signed mark near bottom.
Measures approx 23"T x 4" diameter.
