Steel Band.
Brooks Barrel Company, located in Cambridge, Maryland, was a family owned business from 1951 for over 50 years before closing in the 2000/2010s. They created hand crafted wooden slack barrels. Although they look similar to wine and whiskey barrels, slack barrels are for dry goods (not watertight).
Unknown on year created. Last owner did not store anything in it, just used it as a prop for art illustrations.
The worn tag picture is the actual tag in the barrel. The fully legible "Brooks Barrel" label pictured is NOT on this barrel. It is included to show the authenticity of the manufacturer when comparing to the actual worn tag.
