Entitled "Hal Nelson" this 1930-50s charcoal portrait on paper is by Washington D.C. artist Helen Rennie (1906-1989). Rennie was a WPA artist. She exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts, the Corcoran Gallery Biennials, the Baltimore Museum, Phillips Memorial Gallery and at MoMA.
Signed lower right. Good vintage condition, some age toning and foxing. Paper is very delicate.
