An object that transcends its function, presenting itself as a sculpture of light and color.

Subject and Style: The design is characterized by an organic, fluid, and "biomorphic" form, typical of the finest mid-century Czech glassmaking. The technique used is thick "Sommerso" glass: a central core of vibrant acid green/emerald glass is wrapped in a layer of pink/lilac amethyst glass, all encased in a mass of clear crystal. This interplay of layers creates extraordinary, iridescent hues depending on the angle of the light.

Materials and Finish: Made of heavy, hot-worked, artistic glass. The surface is perfectly smooth and the base is ground flat, highlighting the quality of the artisanal finishing.
