Up for sale is a charming Italian-made table lamp (lampshade), dating back to the 1970s, combining the Murano glassmaking tradition with a minimalist structure typical of the Space Age style.
Subject and Style: The focal point is the rectangular cup-shaped diffuser with wavy edges, crafted from Murano artistic glass. The workmanship is particularly fine: it is a white "ice" glass with a pulegoso effect (rich in trapped air bubbles), embellished with murrine or polychrome inclusions (yellow, red, blue, orange) that create vibrant splashes of color when the lamp is turned on. The supporting structure consists of a slender central stem and a rounded circular base in mirror-finish chrome-plated metal.
Material and Finish: The glass is handcrafted (the typical irregularities along the upper edge are noticeable). The metal base retains a shiny, glossy chrome finish.
