Louis xv period armoire in elm and walnut marquetry, crafted by master antoine sertelon in 1773.
this cabinetmaking gem was created in the charolais region between poule and matour.
it is inspired by the bressan style, yet features moldings typical of furniture from the southern saône-et-loire region.
its history is partially recorded on a sheet of parchment found in the cabinet.
it is very beautiful and elegant, of fine quality, delicately carved and inlaid.
the cornice is "gendarme hat"-shaped.
the whole rests on curved scrolled legs.
