Born in 1944 in paris, after studying "art deco", he settled in the aix countryside never to leave this region which inspired him so much.
with great discipline, he goes to his studio every day where he interprets his walks and daydreams on his canvases, drawing his inspiration from his sketches brought back from various trips.
plok leaves behind gestural imprints brutally interrupted by almost cubist compositions like mondrian or staël (of whom he does not hide his admiration and passion for the work of the latter, quoting matisse: "i have never avoided the influence of others, i would have considered this as cowardice and insincerity towards myself.").
beneath the apparent simplicity of the works lies a long work of synthesis where form and material come together. Balance and harmony come into play in the renewal of the theatricalization of the paintings. Plok dares, surprises, takes us to the land of extremes.
plok, a signature, certainly.
this work of art stands out for its simplicity and visual power, which immediately captures the eye of the observer. The composition is carefully arranged, highlighting everyday elements arranged to create perfect harmony. The painting features a table covered in a vibrant, deep red tablecloth. On this tablecloth, yellow-green pears are precisely arranged, their placement seeming calculated to balance the composition. These fruits, with their bright color, contrast strongly with the monochromatic background, thus drawing attention to the center of the work. A vase containing red flowers, placed in the center of the table, becomes the focal point of the scene. The flowers, with their rich hues, add a touch of life and softness against the saturated red tablecloth. Their color is reminiscent of that of the tablecloth, creating visual continuity while adding depth to the whole. To the right of the vase, two black silhouette bottles stand. They add significant verticality and contrast, their black hue absorbing light and creating mystery around their contents. The bottles, with their simple and elegant shape, give a certain gravity and sophistication to the work. The background of the work is relatively minimalist, consisting of shades of beige and cream, providing a calming contrast to the more vivid elements in the foreground. This choice of background helps accentuate the vibrance of the objects placed on the table, while maintaining overall harmony in the composition.
this painting is a perfect example of how colors and shapes can be used expertly to evoke emotions while maintaining a sense of balance and simplicity. She demonstrates precise control of palette and composition, making the work not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply captivating. This piece has an attribution mark,
