Striking late 19th century French mirror, dating to circa 1880, featuring a giltwood frame with applied foliate and rosette decoration and an inset border of green églomisé (reverse-painted) glass. The mirror is richly detailed with classical neoclassical motifs, including stylized leaf swags and floral medallions, set against a warm gilt surround.
The mirror retains its original beveled glass plate, framed by the distinctive green églomisé inner border, a highly decorative and desirable feature associated with fine French mirrors of the period. The back shows period construction with original wood backing and early fastening methods, consistent with 19th century French manufacture.
