Pierre Pages is a French visual artist who was born in 1933. He is highly revered for his watercolor cityscapes, typically focusing on European cities. Pages works in the post-impressionist tradition borrowing some stylistic flourishes from modernism, which is apparent in his figural depictions.
Several works by the artist have fetched impressive sums at auction, including 'PARISIAN CITYSCAPE' sold at Clark's Fine Art Gallery & Auctioneers Inc. as part of the 'Important Paintings, Drawings, Prints, Posters, & Sculpture.' in 2012.
This fine art print depicts a continental stone baroque-style building, likely in the French countryside, with a domed tower and a small statue on top. The color scheme is muted and blue-toned, with light grays and greens accentuating an almost monochromatic palette. The style is loose and expressive, focusing on the architectural details and the surrounding trees and bushes.

The painting is mounted within a white mat with a red inner border and housed in a polished wooden frame. It comes from the estate of a South Florida restaurateur and was framed by The Frame Company of Jupiter, FL, likely sometime in the 90's. Given its provenance, it is highly likely that the print is originally from a French restaurant from the 1960's-70's.
