A narrow antique runner, the dusty rose field with stylized leaves and rosettes overall around a column of cusped medallions with crosses at each end and containing a floral branch within a sand rosette border.
Woven in Egypt under imperial Ottoman Turkish rule, Cairene rugs are among the rarest and most luxurious antique rugs. Although made for high-level Turkish patrons, the style of such Cairene carpets is strongly Persianized.
