These fascinating carpets have been produced for much of the twentieth century and their early success was largely due to the demand of American market.

This early 20th-century Sarouk rug is a classic example of Persian craft. Its light brown field carries an allover lattice formed by unusual leaves, floral vinery and palmettes with a central quatrefoil medallion at the center within a similar border. The muted color palette of light brown with burgundy undertones and beige adds a venerable touch to the design.

The rug was carefully hand-knotted out of high-quality wool in accordance with traditional techniques. If maintained properly, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear. See less
